D'ALIMENTATION
Tenir le câble d'alimentation par la fiche. Ne pas débrancher la
prise en tirant sur le câble et ne pas toucher le câble avec les
mains mouillées. Cela risque de provoquer un court-circuit ou un
choc électrique. Ne pas poser l'appareil ou un meuble sur le
câble. Ne pas pincer le câble. Ne pas faire de noeud avec le
câble ou l'attacher à d'autres câbles. Les câbles d'alimentation
doivent être posés de façon à ne pas être écrasés. Un câble
abîmé peut provoquer un risque d'incendie ou un choc
électrique. Vérifier le câble d'alimentation de temps en temps.
Contacter le service après-vente PIONEER le plus proche ou le
revendeur pour un remplacement.

This product contains a laser diode of higher
class than 1. To ensure continued safety, do
not remove any covers or attempt to gain access
to the inside of the product.
Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

NOT EXPOSE THIS APPLIANCE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
This product complies with the Low Voltage Directive (73/23/
EEC), EMC Directives (89/336/EEC, 92/31/EEC) and CE
Marking Directive (93/68/EEC).
This player is for consumer use. If the player is used in a
business (for example, used for a long period at a restaurant),
the player will not be covered under warranty. CD video,
VIDEO CD, CD graphics and CD-ROM discs can not be played
with this player.
POWER-CORD CAUTION
Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by
tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your
hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or an electric
shock. Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the
power cord, or pinch the cord. Never make a knot in the cord or
tie it with other cords. The power cords should be routed such
that they are not likely to be stepped on. A damaged power cord
can cause a fire or give you an electrical shock. Check the
power cord once in a while. When you find it damaged, ask your
nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer for a
replacement.
THE STANDBY/ON SWITCH IS SECONDARY CONNECTED
AND THEREFORE DOES NOT SEPARATE THE UNIT FROM
MAINS POWER IN THE STANDBY POSITION.

Location
Install the player in a well-ventilated location where it will
not be exposed to high temperatures or humidity.
Do not install the player in a location which is exposed to direct
rays of the sun, or near stoves or radiators. Excessive heat can
adversely affect the cabinet and internal components. Installa-
tion of the player in a damp or dusty environment may also
result in a malfunction or an accident. (Avoid installation near
cookers etc., where the player may be exposed to oily smoke,
steam or heat.)
Do not install the player on a tottered stand nor in an unstable or
inclined place.
Precautions regarding installation
· Placing and using the compact disc player for long periods on
heat-generating sources such as amplifiers will affect
performance. Avoid placing the player on heat-generating
sources.
· Install this compact disc player as far as possible from tuners
and TV sets. A compact disc player installed in close
proximity to such equipment may cause noise or degradation
of the picture.
· Such noise may be particularly noticeable when
an indoor antenna is used. In such cases, make
use of an outdoor antenna, or turn off power to
the compact disc player.
· Please place this unit on a level surface.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an
equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the
presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the
product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude
to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

Choix d'un emplacement
Installez le lecteur dans un endroit bien aéré, qui n'est
exposé ni aux températures élevées ni à l'humidité.
N'installez pas le lecteur dans un endroit directement exposé à
la lumière du soleil ni au voisinage d'un appareil domestique
dégageant de la chaleur, tel qu'un radiateur. La chaleur peut
endommager le coffret du lecteur et les circuits qu'il contient.
L'installation du lecteur dans un endroit humide ou poussiéreux
peut également entraîner une anomalie de fonctionnement,
voire un accident. (Evitez toute installation à proximité d'un
appareil de cuisson, etc., de manière que le lecteur ne soit
soumis ni à des vapeurs huileuses ou non, ni à la chaleur que
cet appareil peut dégager.)
N'installez pas le lecteur sur un support branlant, instable ou
incliné.
Précautions concernant l'installation
· Le fait de poser ce lecteur de CD sur un appareil pouvant
dégager de la chaleur, tel qu'un amplificateur, et de l'utiliser
dans ces conditions, peut sérieusement altérer ses
performances. Evitez donc de tels emplacements.
· Installez ce lecteur de CD aussi loin que possible d'un
récepteur ou d'un téléviseur. Le fonctionnement du lecteur
de CD peut provoquer un brouillage du son ou de l'image.
· Le brouillage causé par le lecteur de CD peut être
particulièrement gênant si le récepteur ou le téléviseur sont
pourvus d'une antenne intérieure. En ce cas,
utilisez de préférence une antenne extérieure,
ou bien mettez le lecteur hors tension.
· Placez ce lecteur sur une surface horizontale.

The PD-F1009 is equipped with a single loader that lets
you easily play a disc that is not loaded in the rack.
What's more, a priority key makes for excellent
operability of the jump-in play function.
Compatible with recordable CDs
As well as regular CDs, this unit can play CD-R and CD-
RW discs.
CD TEXT compatible
The disc titles are displayed while playing CD TEXT
disc.
Many handy functions for taking maximum
advantage of the changer
The PD-F1009 is equipped with three listening modes
(ALL, SINGLE and CUSTOM) with 5 custom files, as well
as a direct button for even greater operability. What's
more, a jog dial on the main unit makes it even easier to
select discs and so on.
Legato Link Conversion
This results in more faithful reproduction of the original
sound than ever before.
Disc detection function
When the hood is closed, the set automatically detects
whether or not a disc is loaded.

PUT BATTERIES INTO THE REMOTE
CONTROL UNIT
Open the lid of the battery compartment on the rear of the
remote control unit, and insert the batteries, taking care to align
the
ª and · polarities correctly.
Notes!!
· In order to prevent battery leakage, remove the batteries
when not using the remote control unit for an extended
period (one month or more). If leakage occurs, carefully wipe
away any battery fluid inside the compartment, and replace
the batteries with new ones.
· Do not allow books or other objects to rest on top of the re-
mote control unit, since the buttons may be depressed,
causing faster exhaustion of the batteries.
Incorrect use of batteries may cause leakage or rupture.
Always be sure to follow these guidelines:
A. Always insert batteries into the battery compartment
correctly matching the positive
ª and negative ·
polarities, as shown by the display inside the compart-
ment.
B. Never mix new and used batteries.
C. Batteries of the same size may have different voltages,
depending on brand. Do not mix different brands of
batteries.

PLACEZ LES PILES DANS LA
TELECOMMANDE
Ouvrez le couvercle du compartiment des piles, à l'arrière du
boîtier, et introduisez les piles fournies en veillant à respecter les
polarités
ª et · indiquées.
Remarques!!
· De manière à éviter que les piles ne fuient, ne les conservez
pas dans le boîtier de télécommande si vous n'envisagez pas
de l'utiliser pendant une longue période. En cas de fuite,
nettoyez soigneusement le logement des piles et remplacez
ces dernières.
· Veillez à ne rien poser sur le boîtier de télécommande de
façon qu'aucune pression ne soit exercée sur les touches, ce
qui provoquerait rapidement leur épuisement.
· Losrsque la portée de la télécommande diminue, il est
vraisemblable que les piles sont épuisées. Remplacez-les
alors par des piles neuves.
L'utilisation incorrecte des piles peut entraîner une fuite ou
un dommage.
Respectez les consignes suivantes:
A. Veillez à placer les piles de manière à respecter les
polarités
ª et · indiquées dans le logement.
B. N'utilisez pas tout à la fois une pile neuve et une pile
usagée.
C. Deux piles de même taille peuvent présenter des tensions
différentes. Utilisez des piles provenant du même
fabricant.
